Kayla McCarthy

Hello!

My name is Kayla, and I was born and raised in Alaska. From the moment I graduated high school in 2011, I knew my passion and career path lay in massage therapy. I earned my certification from Alaska Career College in 2013 and began my journey working at a local spa, with dreams of one day opening my own practice.

Life took an unexpected turn when, at 21, I stepped into the role of raising my nephew. Through it all, I remained dedicated to my craft, continuing my massage work in Wasilla, Alaska. In 2020, I earned my MBLEX certification, further solidifying my expertise.

Balancing motherhood and my career, I eventually felt the pull for warmer winters and new adventures. In the fall of 2024, my family of five packed up and made the exciting move to Raleigh, NC. After successfully obtaining my North Carolina massage license, I am thrilled to call this beautiful state home and to be welcomed into Blackbird Massage and Wellness with open arms.

I specialize in deep tissue techniques, post-surgery recovery, prenatal care, and much more—offering a unique blend of spa relaxation and clinical precision. A lifelong learner, I am committed to continually expanding my knowledge and skills in the ever-evolving field of massage therapy.
